The study calculates the number of unique users for each application between January and October 2015, without taking into account the number of downloads on the different application markets. The numbers in the right column represent the percentage change compared with the previous year, namely 2014.
It is found that Facebook is the big winner of this ranking by occupying the first place with 126.702 million unique users, but also 3rd with Facebook Messenger. Google is the other big winner with YouTube in second place and his whole range of essential mobile applications like Google Maps, Gmail, Google Play or Search. Apple is not outdone by Apple Music and its 54 million unique users. Apple Maps closes the ranking to 10th place. Beyond the ranking, applications that grew the most in one year is Facebook Messenger (+ 31%), Apple Music (+ 26%) and Instagram (+ 23%).
Good news for the Facebook group, but a little less for users given that Facebook also occupies first place in the ranking of the applications that impact the most performance and battery.
